I haven't created all of the things that I have on my list for the summer and my summer is almost over. Oh my! I have a long list of ideas in my teaching notebook that I want to create for myself, but of course to share with my wonderful teacher friends!!!

I have put together a few things so far this summer for our new reading series, Wonders. Anyone else using it? I'd love to hear. We used Treasures for the last 5 years and it looks to be very similar. I have put together another packet of literacy centers that I think would be great for the beginning of the year/back to school time! I call it a MEGA PACK because it includes 30 literacy centers! (160+ pages!) And....if you downloaded my freebie for the Facebook Hop this weekend, you got a sneak peak at what my MEGA PACK consists of. Dare I say...Back to School!?!?!

Officially just past the "middle of July" mark. In our district, teachers are back August 15th, kids on August 19th. I have three days of training the week of August 5th, then the time in between then and the 15th will be spent getting the classroom ready! Yikes!!! I know we say this every year, but WHERE DOES THE SUMMER GO!?!?!?! So depressing.


This summer has been extra special for me because I'm home with my baby girl. However, Lilly goes back to daycare starting August 5th, so Mommy can get ready. Again, depressing! Next summer will be much different, she will be so much bigger and like a different child I'm sure! :) I did some shopping yesterday (imagine that!) and found a ton of marked down summer clothes at Kohls. I wasn't sure how to decide what she will be wearing next summer. She is growing WAY TOO FAST. So since she's in 12 month clothes now (she's 7 months old), I decided that one year from now, she will be in 2T. Hope I'm right!!! If not, I'm sure her older sister (who is tiny!) will still fit in 2T, and she can wear what I bought for HER in 3T! This year's 4th of July picture turned out so adorable in my opinion, so I wanted to make sure I got their 4th of July dresses for next year ($5 deal at Kohls!) :) Can't wait! But I CAN wait for the girls to grow so much!!!

Last week I attended an iPad conference in Chicago: BER-Best Use of iPads in the Classroom. Had a good time and I'll post more about that later!


Since I've been back, I have been thinking more about BACK TO SCHOOL time. Eek!! Last night I got these Back to School Literacy Centers posted. This packet includes 5 weeks of centers (6 centers per week!) 30 centers total! If you check out the description on TpT, it will give you information on what skills are covered in the centers. Remember, if you already purchase my Treasures units, you *won't* want to purchase this because these centers come from Unit 1 Treasures! Let me know if you have any questions!!!

Treasures Resource Packets

My 2nd grade Treasures Resource Packets have been a big hit on Teachers Pay Teachers and I couldn't be more thrilled! I'm so glad that teachers out there are loving my work. It's so exciting!!! I have now officially completely finished all 6 units of the packets. It was a little confusing because I had started at Unit 3 (the point that I was teaching at when I started making them) then I went through 4, 5, 6, then back to do 1 and 2. Now they are all done and I'm selling them in weekly packets, but also full unit packs at a discounted price. Also, if you really like my work and decide that you want to purchase the entire year (30 weeks=6 units=$150), I will FOR SURE make you a great deal on the whole year set. Just contact me. There isn't an easy way for me to sell the entire year on TPT because the file would be so large. What would be easier is just for me to make great teachers a great deal! :-)

Who doesn't L-O-V-E Pinterest? Yikes! It's addicting!!! I had avoided it for awhile because it was wasting too much time, but this summer, I am back at it!!! :)

I have made many different OOPS games for my students, but I really like this idea because it's something different, not just on cardstock or paper, but on craft sticks. Plus I love how she did it on labels! Easy! AND this is a way to use my Crystal Light containers that I save for some unknown reason!! Thanks Mrs. Samuelson's Swamp Frogs
